Did you make fitness or health related goals for the new year? How’s that going? Well, if you’re like most of the population, you probably dropped those resolutions months ago. Use Fitness Apps

One of the easiest ways to stay on track with your fitness goals is to use apps on your smartphone that will remind you to work out and track your calories. Lose It and My Fitness Pal are some of the most popular free fitness apps that will help you lose weight and keep an eye on your health. Both of these apps, allow you to record every morsel of food you’re putting in your body daily, as well as how much energy and calories you’re getting out! Set a goal on the app and it will remind you of your target and keep you on track each day. Think of it as a little coach in your pocket saying, “Make good choices! Eat fresh fruits and veggies! Go for a walk!”

Reward Yourself

Don’t deny yourself a sweet treat every now and then. It won’t throw you off track for good. Reward yourself with a little treat or a savory meal! There are plenty of ways to make good choices when it comes to your rewards. Instead of eating a huge bowl of high-fat ice cream, maybe choose a sugar-free cup of frozen yogurt loaded up with fruit on top. Don’t lose sight of the end goal, but satisfying your cravings every now and then isn’t a bad thing.

Workout with Your Friends/Family

 Finding it tough to get your booty to the gym? Start working out with a friend, family member, or co-worker to motivate yourself. It can be tough at first to coordinate schedules, but once you get into the groove of things, the pay off will be so worth it! Taking a friend to the gym not only encourages you to actually go, but it may help you feel more comfortable in the gym too. If you’re uneasy about using gym equipment or can’t afford a gym membership, there are tons of group exercises that you can do with a partner and little to no workout equipment!

Get an Accountability Partner

Just like taking a friend to the gym, having an accountability partner at home or work will help you stick to your goals. Instead of having co-workers that constantly offer you a donut in the office or leave distracting treats near your desk, ask friends and family to help keep you accountable. Having a partner can lead to long term results and really strengthen a friendship/relationship. It’s nice to know you’ve got someone else who wants the best for you.

 So, find an accountability partner, download some fitness apps onto your phone, and get to work! You only have one lifetime to take care of your body, so don’t sell yourself short. We know you’ve got this and it’s okay to need a little extra push every now and then.
